Bookbinding Techniques

Everyone loves to buy notebooks once in a while, but have you ever wondered how it came to be? Its a simple product, but there are steps to bind a book. We’re not only taking about the notebooks you buy at your local bookstore, but a book that is carefully bind with thought and precision. So if you’re interested to know more and learn about bookbinding techniques (so that you don’t have to buy them anymore!), plus learn a thing or two about leather and using wood cutting machineries, join this class!! The workshop will be conducted in Bahasa Indonesia. English speakers may receive assistence in English.

• Knowledge on bookbinding tools and media: how to punch hole, punch eyelet, wax thread stitching
• How to bind a book using multi section coptic bookbinding technique and French link stitch bookbinding technique
• How to cut plywood using wood cutting machinery at our woodworking area (for cover)
• Leather cutting technique (for strap)

• Although very few of our workshops are canceled, Indoestri Makerspace reserves the right to cancel a workshop if it has not enrolled enough participants. In the event that a workshop is cancelled, you will be notified via email and entitled to a full refund.
• Participants must agree to give Indoestri Makerspace unrestricted publishing rights for any pictures or footages that are taken during the workshop session.
• Individuals participating in Indoestri Makerspace workshops must take on full responsibility for any risks, injury or damages, which he/she might incur as a result in participating the in the workshop.
