Woodworking 101: Cajon

Do you know that early cajons were often made from shipping cartons brought over on Spanish ships? Do you also know that the cajon can be played in an orchestra as part of classical music? If not, then this is your chance to take a trip through history and make your own cajon here at Indoestri! We’ll teach you the basic skills required to make the cajon, such as drawing the model, cutting using different machineries, and assembling. You will be able to bring home your very own musical instrument at the end of the day, how cool!

The workshop will be conducted in Bahasa Indonesia. English speakers may receive assistence in English.

• Experience using differnet wood cutting machineries at our makerspace to cut the materials for the cajon — no parts are precut!

• Although very few of our workshops are canceled, Indoestri Makerspace reserves the right to cancel a workshop if it has not enrolled enough participants. In the event that a workshop is cancelled, you will be notified via email and entitled to a full refund.
• Participants must agree to give Indoestri Makerspace unrestricted publishing rights for any pictures or footages that are taken during the workshop session.
• Individuals participating in Indoestri Makerspace workshops must take on full responsibility for any risks, injury or damages, which he/she might incur as a result in participating the in the workshop.
