Glass Terrarium Making

Glass is definitely a challenging and fun medium to explore, and the possibilities are endless! During this interactive and hands-on 6-hour workshop, you’ll be introduced to the different techniques, tools, and tricks, and at the end of the day, bring home a glass container for the beloved succulents and plants waiting at home.

Patricia Untario has more than a decade of experience in making glass installations, and her more recent work was on display at MRT Istora Mandiri (Central Jakarta), Senayan City, and Art Jakarta 2019.

The workshop will be conducted in Bahasa Indonesia. English speakers may receive assistence in English.

• Learn about the basic tools used in glasswork and where to get them
• Learn to cut glass using a glass cutter (cutting a sheet of glass into the shapes you want)
• Knowledge on the different glass forms and applications — the different things you can do with glass
• Learn about the copper foil technique, wrapping sides with copper tape
• Assembling of glass box by soldering all the taped corners (super satisfying part of the process!)
• Your own glass box that you will be making from scratch, with finishing
