Textile & Leather 103: Zip Top Tote Bag

For the most recent addition to our in-house Textile & Leather workshop series, we are raising the bar by incorporating more hardwares, like zippers! Making a product like a bag is not just about knowing how the sewing machine works, or how to make patterns, but also adding hardwares that can make your product more appealing and versatile. If you'd like to spend a day at our makerspace (a productive day that is), join the workshop and be surprised of what you're capable of. Let's go!

Are you a beginner with no experience in operating the sewing machine? Do not worry! This workshop is perfect for beginners with little to no experience. The instructor will teach you how the sewing machine works, from the very beginning.

The workshop will be conducted in Bahasa Indonesia. English speakers may receive assistence in English.

• Learn to operate different sewing machines, and learn how to properly sew the different materials (fabric and leather)
• Draw pattern of the bag and learning to measure the different materials
• Manually sew leather strap onto the bag

• Although very few of our workshops are canceled, Indoestri Makerspace reserves the right to cancel a workshop if it has not enrolled enough participants. In the event that a workshop is cancelled, you will be notified via email and entitled to a full refund.
• Participants must agree to give Indoestri Makerspace unrestricted publishing rights for any pictures or footages that are taken during the workshop session.
• Individuals participating in Indoestri Makerspace workshops must take on full responsibility for any risks, injury or damages, which he/she might incur as a result in participating the in the workshop.
